Crime Prevention > Youth Inclusion Programme

Bradford has received funding from the Youth Justice Board to support two Youth Inclusion Programmes (YIPs).

See the 2004 information leaflet here -

The programme targets 50 young people aged 13 – 16 years old most at risk of offending and social exclusion in areas of high crime and poverty.  The projects aim to engage with these targeted young people and offers them up to 10 hours of constructive social activities to motivate them to achieve in education and prevent them from offending.

Referrals to the programme are received from the Youth Offending Team, Police, Schools, Education Welfare Service, Youth Service and Social Services.  A particular focus is giving to those young people who are ‘Looked After’ and those who are at risk of being subject to an Anti Social Behaviour Order.

The programme is developing a technology room in each area to provide alternative education and basic skills training in partnership with local schools.
