Fixed Penalty Notices
(PND)
The Government has introduced, from 1 June 2004,
new powers for the police to issue fixed penalty notices (PND) to
adults and 16 and 17 year olds in respect of certain public order
offences.

The
young person has to admit the offence and agree to the PND.
Failure to pay the fine will result in being taken to court.
In Bradford from June-November 2004, 13 Fixed Penalty Notices were
made on young offenders aged 16 and 17 years old.

The police issued 106 Fixed Penalty Notices during 2006
compared to 163 in 2005.. |
