Interventions > Housing
This project aims to provide accommodation and
support to young people involved with the Youth
Offending Team who are homeless or vulnerable and in
need of housing related support.
The project targets young people aged between 16-18
years old and is a partnership between
Foundation Housing, Bradford Council and the
Bradford Youth Offending Team.
Young people if eligible will be offered
accommodation and support to ensure that they are
able to cope with the responsibilities of managing
their own tenancy. They will receive help from the
project in areas of:
-
Furnishing the accommodation
-
Welfare Benefits
-
Social & Leisure Activities
-
Training & Employment
-
Literacy & Numeracy
-
Managing Their Bills
Young people on the project will receive support for
up to 12 months and once the young person has
maintained the tenancy for at least a year then the
project support will then be withdrawn and the young
person becomes an independent tenant of the Council.
This project is supported by a grant from the
Government's Supporting People programme.
