The National Standards for Youth Justice Services has guidelines for Section 226/228.

These two sections Criminal Justice Act 2003 may be ordered for certain specified, usually violent or sexual, offences. The legislation was initially enacted to make it mandatory for a court to order one of these public protection sentences for all such specified offences where the court deemed that person to be 'dangerous'.
