Community Orders > Curfew Orders
A young offender can be sentenced to a
Curfew Order which requires the young offender to be
electronically tagged and monitored to ensure that
they remain indoors at specified times (set by the
court). The curfew restriction can be between two
and twelve hours a day and last for up to six
months.
Once an order is made the young person is visited by
Securicor who fix the tag (on the ankle) and install
monitoring equipment. If the young offender breaches
the curfew they can be returned to court.
Electronic tagging can also be made as part of the
following orders from court:
-
Bail
-
Remand to Local Authority
