Welcome to Bradford & District YOT
Bradford & District YOT is made up of
representatives from agencies including the
Police,
Probation Service,
Children’s Social Care,
Health, and
Education.
Bradford & District YOT identifies the needs of each
young offender by assessing them and addressing the
specific problems that make the young person offend.
The YOT also measures the risk they pose to others.
This enables the YOT to deliver suitable programmes
to deal with the needs of the young person with the
intention of preventing
further offending.
In addition to accepting seconded staff from the
agencies named above, the YOT directly employs staff
in a number of differing roles. The roles can be
either working directly with young people or
alternatively generic admin roles to support front
line staff.
The YOT also recruits
volunteers and there are a number of very
important ways in which volunteers can assist the
YOT and their community.

Easy Read Information
Bradford YOT have been instrumental in the development of booklets and leaflets to address the needs of young people with poor literacy skills or speech and language difficulties.
The straightforward wording supported by clear images will help many young people understand what will happen to them during their order, the help and support available to them, and the consequences if they do not comply. The publications produced so far cover the following orders:
-
Referral Order
-
Youth Rehabilitation Order
-
Detention & Training Order
